During his 30+
year executive career, Richard D’Antoni has held CEO, COO, and
board member positions and has raised over $50 million in
venture capital for emerging healthcare services and biotech
companies. He has participated in three IPO’s (totaling over
$100 million) and two public company mergers. Returning to
executive search in 2001, Richard created the boutique
healthcare and life sciences executive search firm D’Antoni
Partners, Inc.
Previously,
Richard’s focus was in physician practice and diagnostic
services management. He was both an investor and President and
CEO of Pathology Partners, Inc., an owner and operator of
independent anatomic pathology laboratories. Richard served as
a Director and COO of ProMedCo, a physician practice management
company. During his tenure, ProMedCo grew from a private
company with two medical groups to a public company of 11
medical groups with over 680 physician and mid-level providers,
ancillary services and three IPA's in nine states with 1997
annualized revenue in excess of $200 million.
Richard has
used his recruiting and team building experience to impact
companies in a variety of settings and stages. For five years
he served as President and CEO of Cellcor, Inc., a publicly
traded biotechnology company in Boston. He led this private
research boutique through a Pivotal FDA Phase III trial, a
Treatment IND, an IPO, and merger. Mid-career he spent almost
four years as a Health Care Partner with Korn/Ferry
International, the world’s largest executive search firm.
Richard’s
hospital experience began in Houston with Hospital Affiliates
Inc. (now HCA), and included serving as a Group Vice President
for American Medical International (AMI), (now Tenet). At AMI
he was responsible for 11 acute care hospitals and a variety of
non-hospital facilities and services, with 1986 revenues in
excess of $500 million. As COO, he was involved in the
start-up, IPO, and growth of Medical Care International, then
the nation's first and largest owner/operator of outpatient
surgery centers.
Richard holds a
Master's degree in Health Care Administration from Tulane
University and a Bachelor of Science degree from LSU. He earned
the RRA, now RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
while serving in the U.S. Public Health Service and achieved the
Certificate in Management Accounting (CMA).
Richard has
been married for 37 years, has two grown children and, enjoys
volunteer/mission work with his church, golfing, and leisure
time at his Galveston beach house.
